"I requested my barber if he had a gun," Albarado, a U.S. Customs and Border Safety agent, advised CBS Information on Wednesday. He had attended an awards ceremony at the faculty earlier that morning and was off obligation, with his weapon at residence.

"Kids are popping out the windows," he stated.

The officers began opening classroom doors, and Albarado stated he guided individuals to security.

"First classroom, second classroom, third classroom, saw my daughter," Albarado said. "Reduction. Large aid."

He hugged and kissed her, and soon she was heading to the school car parking zone.

While Border Patrol agents had been on the crew that breached the classroom the place the gunman was holed up, Albarado wasn't in that group.

"I did not have my gear, and so it would not have been a good move for me to get into the building," he said. "I didn't have my vest. A shotgun's not a good enough defense."
