Apple has discontinued the iPod, 20 years after it was launched.
The US tech giant said its iconic music participant has been changed by different units, making the iPod redundant.
Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice-president of worldwide marketing, stated: "In the present day, the spirit of iPod lives on.
"We have built-in an unimaginable music expertise throughout all of our merchandise, from the iPhone to the Apple Watch to HomePod mini, and throughout Mac, iPad, and Apple TV.
"And Apple Music delivers industry-leading sound high quality with support for spatial audio - there is not any better solution to enjoy, discover, and expertise music."
In October 2001, Steve Jobs debuted the original iPod and it was the primary MP3 participant that might hold 1,000 songs and had a 10-hour battery life.
"With iPod, Apple has invented a complete new class of digital music participant that lets you put your whole music collection in your pocket and hearken to it wherever you go," he said on the time.
"With iPod, listening to music won't ever be the same once more."
Similar MP3 players released by Microsoft and Sony did not have the same success because the iPod.
Apple has launched five versions of its music participant - the Basic, Contact, Shuffle, Mini and Nano.
The corporate has been slowly killing its iPod range lately, with cell phone know-how enabling customers to listen to music companies on their telephones.
In 2014, the traditional click on wheel model was discontinued, and the Shuffle and Nano were killed off three years later.
The seventh-generation iPod touch was the one mannequin still on sale as we speak.
Without the iPod, there would never have been an iPhone or iPod, in response to its inventor Tony Fadell.
