CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The mother and father of a 6-year-old marathoner are talking out after they are saying youngster protective services paid their household an unannounced visit and questioned their youngsters at home.

Ben and Kami Crawford shared a photograph on Instagram Sunday purportedly of one of their kids being interviewed by a CPS staffer. Within the accompanying caption, they wrote partially, "Yesterday Child Protective Providers (CPS) arrived at our house unannounced and interviewed our youngsters, dad and mom & grandmother. This is a scary process as a result of normally children are interrogated away from dad and mom, in opposition to their will, and their solutions decide the agency's legal right to take away the kids."


The Crawfords made headlines final week after they let their children, together with their son Rainier, 6, run the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati on May 1 and shared it online. Campbell County, Kentucky, District Legal professional Steve Franzen confirmed to "Good Morning America" that little one services had visited the Crawfords, but said no determination had been made but within the investigation.

Ben and Kami Crawford addressed critics' accusations in a prolonged Instagram video Saturday.

"The real stuff that we got accused of was dragging Rainier, like physically dragging him on the marathon course after mile 13 and across the end line," Ben Crawford said.

"If you guys have seen our finish line image, we all held arms for like the final in all probability, like, .2, .3 miles," he added. "We talked about it ahead of time, like that is what we will do."

The Crawfords keep their 6-year-old wanted to run all alongside and stand by their resolution to let the younger boy run 26.2 miles.

"I don't know if I must be offended. I like to consider that persons are doing the best that they can. They don't seem to be trying to destroy our life or, , they most likely are legit afraid for our youngsters. But additionally, it's like, the place's the road?" Ben Crawford requested.

"I feel like we're doing what we really feel enthusiastic about," Kami Crawford stated. "It will be kind of tragic to cease all that."

Consultants say a marathon is a severe bodily feat for anyone and it could actually take a toll on a baby.

"If a younger baby were to run a marathon, I am anxious about electrolyte abnormalities, nausea, vomiting, heatstroke, all these signs and signs that will not be that clear in a young little one," Dr. Alok Patel previously told "GMA."

Children could have a harder time recognizing warning indicators of dehydration, exhaustion or different red flags. Dad and mom and caregivers should consult with a child's pediatrician before a toddler is permitted to interact in any strenuous train.
