Taliban leader orders ladies to put on all-covering burqa in public: Decree

Afghanistan’s supreme leader and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the nation’s ladies to put on the all-covering burqa in public - one of many harshest controls imposed on girls’s lives because the Taliban seized power.

“They need to wear a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it is traditional and respectful,” stated a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was launched by Taliban authorities at a perform in Kabul.

“These girls who are usually not too outdated or younger should cowl their face, besides the eyes, as per sharia directives, so as to avoid provocation when meeting men who are not mahram (adult shut male family members),” the decree mentioned.

It added that if ladies had no necessary work exterior it was “higher they keep at home.”

During their first regime between 1996 and 2001, the Taliban imposed comparable restrictions on ladies.
