Taliban chief orders girls to put on all-covering burqa in public: Decree

Afghanistan’s supreme chief and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the country’s ladies to wear the all-covering burqa in public - one of the harshest controls imposed on girls’s lives for the reason that Taliban seized power.

“They should put on a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it's conventional and respectful,” stated a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was launched by Taliban authorities at a function in Kabul.

“These ladies who should not too old or younger should cover their face, besides the eyes, as per sharia directives, as a way to avoid provocation when assembly men who aren't mahram (grownup close male family),” the decree stated.

It added that if ladies had no vital work exterior it was “higher they keep at home.”

During their first regime between 1996 and 2001, the Taliban imposed similar restrictions on girls.
