College students walk out of schools in protest of gun violence

Days after no less than 19 elementary school college students and two academics were killed in a mass capturing at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, college students at schools around the nation staged walkouts to protest gun violence.

"You see information day by day about kids getting shot and people your age dying and it is simply extremely unhappy and unbelievable, particularly to see like youngsters youthful and children my age," Janoff informed ABC Information. "I cant think about that being me; but it is imaginable because it occurs so often."

The 17 year-old says her school's administration was in assist of the walkout and she or he hopes the over 200 planned demonstrations across the nation send a transparent message that students are a "united front."

A walkout may not necessarily change laws, Janoff said, but these actions show "college students are still united on this."

She said that although most students aren't sufficiently old to vote, they nonetheless wish to see change and are willing to take measures to have their voices heard in politics.

"Students don't must be quiet about it simply because they seem to be a kid," Janoff said.
