A fifth grade student in Florida was arrested over the weekend and charged with sending a text message threatening to carry out a mass taking pictures, authorities mentioned.

In a statement Saturday, the Lee County Sheriff’s Workplace said it had realized earlier that day of a "threatening text message" sent by a scholar at an elementary faculty.

It stated its local college risk enforcement team was instantly notified and started investigating. The ten-year-old boy was interviewed and charged later with "making a written risk to conduct a mass shooting," the sheriff's office stated.

In video shared by authorities, the boy might be seen being led into a police vehicle.

“This student’s habits is sickening, particularly after the latest tragedy in Uvalde, Texas,” Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno stated in a press release, noting that the risk came just days after the lethal faculty taking pictures at Robb Elementary College left 19 college students and two academics lifeless.

“Proper now is just not the time to behave like just a little delinquent. It’s not funny,” he stated. “This child made a pretend menace, and now he’s experiencing real penalties.”
