Comedian Dave Chappelle was attacked onstage Tuesday evening as he performed at Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl enviornment, with videos from viewers members' cellphones shortly flooding social media and exhibiting a man seem to run onto the stage and tackle the comic.

Chappelle, whose unapologetic humor has made him a lightning rod for criticism, appeared unscathed by the sudden interruption and later joked (Be aware: Linked video comprises harsh language together with profanity) with fellow comic and actor Jamie Foxx onstage that he'd taken revenge on his attacker.

Movies posted to Twitter appeared to point out the one who charged Chappelle being detained outside the venue by police and then loaded into an ambulance with seen accidents.

Witnesses mentioned — and videos appeared to show — that the person was set upon by multiple folks onstage instantly after he attacked Chappelle.

Whereas the whole debacle was captured in multiple movies shot by members of the audience, cell phone use was officially banned during the performance.  

The motivation for the initial assault remained unclear, and there was no speedy response from the Los Angeles Police Department to CBS Information' request for information about the incident.
