The family of an 11-year-old woman who survived the bloodbath at Robb Elementary College in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday says the 4th grader performed useless after the gunman entered her classroom.

Miah Cerrillo's aunt and godmother said the 4th grader is struggling to cope and telling them what she witnessed in the course of the shooting.

"Round midnight my sister-in-law called me and she or he was just crying, like 'I feel it simply hit Miah. I believe every little thing got here to reality now,'" said Blanca Rivera.

Rivera said Miah's instructor, Irma Garcia, was one of the two lecturers killed. Her friends and classmates had been additionally targeted.

Rivera stated that's when Miah went into survival mode.

"Miah obtained some blood and put it on herself so she could pretend she was useless," stated Rivera. "It's too much for me to play that scene over and over, but that's what my sister-in-law mentioned is that she saw her pal filled with blood and she got blood and put it on herself."

Miah was injured but taken to the hospital and has been released.
