CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The dad and mom of a 6-year-old marathoner are speaking out after they say child protecting services paid their household an unannounced go to and questioned their children at home.

Ben and Kami Crawford shared a photo on Instagram Sunday purportedly of one in all their youngsters being interviewed by a CPS staffer. Within the accompanying caption, they wrote partially, "Yesterday Baby Protective Providers (CPS) arrived at our residence unannounced and interviewed our youngsters, mother and father & grandmother. Ben and Kami Crawford addressed critics' accusations in a lengthy Instagram video Saturday.

The Crawfords preserve their 6-year-old wanted to run all alongside and stand by their determination to let the younger boy run 26.2 miles.

"I do not know if I must be offended. I prefer to imagine that persons are doing the best that they'll. They're not attempting to wreck our life or, you know, they in all probability are legit afraid for our kids. But also, it is like, where's the road?" Ben Crawford requested.

"I feel like we're doing what we feel captivated with," Kami Crawford said. "It will be sort of tragic to stop all that."

Consultants say a marathon is a critical bodily feat for anybody and it may well take a toll on a child.

"If a young baby were to run a marathon, I am fearful about electrolyte abnormalities, nausea, vomiting, heatstroke, all these signs and signs that may not be that clear in a young little one," Dr. Alok Patel beforehand advised "GMA."

Children may have a tougher time recognizing warning indicators of dehydration, exhaustion or other purple flags. Dad and mom and caregivers ought to consult with a baby's pediatrician before a toddler is permitted to interact in any strenuous train.
